USE OF PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES

 
The Durrington Otters Swim Squad is currently recruiting for new members.  For the purposes of marketing and promotion of the club, the squad may wish to use images and names of your child/children taking part in squad activities including galas and fundraising events.  A group photograph of the squad may also be taken and posted inside the pool common area.
 
Before any photographs or images can be published, the consent of the parent or guardian must be obtained.  By signing the attached form you are giving your consent to the pool to use images or photographs taken by the squad for the promotion or publicity of the swim squad.  These images may or may not be used by the local or national media.  The squad cannot, however, prohibit the media taking pictures of any member involved in squad activities should media be invited to cover one of our events.
 
You may withdraw your consent at any time and your consent must be withdrawn in writing to the pool staff.  Please note that certain images of your child or children for example a squad photograph taken some time ago cannot always be deleted.  All photographs and images will only be retained for the period of time that your child remains involved with the Durrington Otters Swim Squad.
 
The squad is only responsible for photographs taken by the marketing committee, pool staff or an authorized agent of the pool and cannot be responsible for photographs taken by other third parties (such as parents).  The media however, are not subject to the Date Protection Act and the squad cannot prohibit the media from taking pictures or using the names of any child, for example a winning relay in a gala.  Please be assured however, that all media visits will be closely supervised with media escorted at all times should in fact an event arise that media are in attendance.
 
Please confirm your consent by putting your initials in the appropriate boxes and signing and returning the form to the pool by Monday, March 14th 2005.
